I feel like I've gone five laps around the crazy track.

I have been feeling distinctly Not Bad for almost a half a year now, and in my naivete I assumed I'd contracted the brain cure (opposite of the brain worms). Alas, the wagon train of depression has come around the bend again. To quote the great philosopher t-shirt, "I hate myself and want to die" (not actually with the death part), and I feel this is interfering with my educational goals.

So I putz around and try to pretend things are super, but eventually at the advice of a wise [livejournal.com profile] metonymy I travel to the UofA's psychological services department. I assumed that, as was the case at community college, their services were free. I was very very wrong, and I left the office crying, which is my usual mode of action these days and clearly the most logical reaction to even the slightest crisis. $30 a session may be a trifling amount to some people, but I've already spent all the money I had (correction: all the money I didn't have to begin with HELLO DEBT) on trying to fix my physiological problems (current theory: it is asthma that does not respond to asthma medication, super great).

Next step is the community college counseling service (where I'm getting my math credits), which had damn well better be free or else fuckity fuckity fuck.

But the important thing is that I got out of bed this morning and made it through two of three classes without additional crying.

In the mean time, all I've got is crow + kitten = bff therapy. Consider this link my apology for all the personal drama whining.

Why do you ask what you know in your heart to be true?

Um, I would cry as well, because what the fuck? Counseling was free at my little private college and is free here at my bigass state university. There's absolutely no reason they should make you pay for that. I really hope that the community college has a free service and that you can take advantage of that. And I'm proud of you for going in the first place. ♥

I have no idea what the deal is. I got the impression from the website that it was free, and then I show up and "HERE IS A PRICING LIST" aw man. Fortunately they ARE free at the community college. I CALLED AND CHECKED. Rock it. ♥

STOP LISTENING TO COLDPLAY IF YOU'RE DEPRESSED I mean I love the CP but nothing exacerbates a dark mood quite like Chris Martin's falsetto.

But seriously, I am rooting for you and thinking good thoughts. Don't let the assholes deter you from seeking more acceptable counseling. :(

HA HA, I ACTUALLY THOUGHT ABOUT THAT. I decided that Coldplay would be a good compromise between NIN (DARQUE ANQUST) and The Shins (SUGARY HAPPY). Actually, personal trivia, the last time I was depressed I started listening to a lot of Coldplay on the way to work and it actually cheered me up (because it was their X&Y album and I think it's one of their more optimistic albums).

I'm going to do everyone a favor and stop rambling about CP now.

WTF? Even ASU's counseling is free...

We should do something during Spring Break just to get out and maybe break free of said depression. Sorry about the asthma. I feel for you.

If you need someone to talk to go ahead and call if you want. Or do what I do, buy a beta fish and talk to it. They make excellent pets. I even named mine. XD

DID YOU NAME THE FISH ABHIJEET???? No? Probably not.

You should especially know how much asthma sucks, amirite? The doc actually had to rule out Valley fever first. I almost wish it was that, because at least I can get rid of a fungal infection.

The beta is not Abhijeet. Because Abhijeet II is currently residing in the fish tank. He is a nice 3 inches now.

My asthma strikes fast and furious. Hell, I used to be on one of those little breathing machine things when it hit.

At least the doctor is being thorough, right?

Well I'm sorry you're not feeling well on these fronts. Mewonders if going to college could be a trigger, since I was constantly stressed out and miserable. And I write this with the grain of salt that I haven't seen you in a couple months and don't know the full circumstances... and so...

$30 huh? That is a bit odd for counseling. And it's a fair amount of money for anyone, debt or not.

If the community college can't help you maybe it's time to hit up the parents, and to hit them up regardless since your health is in some degree of semi-jeopardy and you are in debt. No shame in hitting up the parents since you are in college.

Also, jeopardy is occasionally quite fun to watch on TV. Trebek!

Well good luck. Bring on Alan Thicke. I just favorited this video on YouTube so I can watch it over and over again.
