Yessss, the first post on the road of regular posts. I am trying to be accountable for not being a fretful doof.

WORxK

Well, I got my old trainer to fax me instructions for ordering study materials for tech certification. She faxed me 13 pages, but now that I sit down to look at it I see that they're mostly study materials, mostly about drug classification. There are big, bold words at the top that say "DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MEMORIZE THIS" but I think that might happen whether I want it to or not because it's pretty interesting.

Also reassured myself by doing a search for local non-retail and/or full time pharmacy positions, and there are a lot.

Otherwise this week was mostly the week of angry narcotics abusers, but that will be a whole locked post unto itself.

Walking with Hobbits

I actually stopped keeping track of this on December 16th. :\ At the time I'd logged 271.6 miles, which puts me on Day 27, or somewhere between the Weather Hills and the Trollshaws.

Gonna start keeping track again tomorrow, March 6th, which hilariously enough is the very day I started logging miles last year. I have a deep, geeky yearning to see how far I can get on Bilbo's journey before the movie comes out in December. In fact, I'm gonna go watch that trailer again!

Gastronomic Goodness

Most of my adventures this week involved food. I am okay with this.

Wednesday was the Melting Pot for Ladies' Night. The featured cocktail was a "Serenitini" (actually just a Vodka Sunrise I think), and [personal profile] mindsplinters and I giggled over the mental image of Wash drinking one on Serenity, out of a sippy cup so that he doesn't spill it on the controls.

Friday I discovered a Starbucks on Schoenersville Road. I was so happy I made noises that I cannot describe with words. Speaking of things that are ubiquitous where I'm from and sadly lacking here, [personal profile] tatterpixie and I were very excited to discover that there is a Jamba Juice in Philadelphia.

On Saturday Angie and I went downtown to poke around The Attic and fetch split pea soup for an ailing Pixie and have dinner at Brewworks. This is the week of the 'tini, apparelntly: she had a "Skittletini": a bunch of fruity liquors, garnished with Skittles. It was very... Skittle-y. I had a beer cocktail, with tequila (I had not had Patron in so long, yum) and grapefruit juice. Only problem with this?

Z: Beer before liquor: never been sicker. Liquor before beer: you're in the clear. Beer and liquor at the same time: we don't really have a rhyme for that. You're on your own. GOOD LUCK. ESPECIALLY WITH THE TEQUILA.
Angie: Beer and liquor at the same time: there is no rhyme!
Z: But you just made one!

Sunday I made my Casserole of Victory with asparagus tips instead of peas, and all of Casa DeRP rejoiced. Also found it pairs well with a tart, dry hard cider.

Make Words Do

I started writing again! Yay! Got caught up in Kingdom, and now I need to catch up and realign myself in my other games.

Also, this week I saw Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows for the third time. Last year I promised someone a fic based on the movie franchise. I might finally be able to pull that off now!

Second Best Thing on the Internet

WARNING: for brief boobs, someone not knowing how to properly bind said boobs, use of the word "fag". Also, this song will get stuck in your head.
