BORING REAL LIFE RAMBLING.

Ever get the feeling that the days are just crawling by at a snail's pace?

Part of it is because I'm not in school, I'm working relatively few hours, and some days I can just work from home (STILL WORK, yes, but working in your pajamas is totally different).

Part of it is I feel like I'm doing a lot of waiting lately, mostly waiting on calls from doctors and sundry bureaucrats. Phone tag is like purgatory without guarantee of reward.

A BIG part of it is that I hurt my back and am sort of languishing indoors. I think it's overall stress and tension. I pulled a muscle in my upper back twice already this month. This time it is my LOWER back, and initially I wasn't sure if it was a sprain or a strain or whether I should use heat or ice on it or whether I should stay in bed or try to exercise it out or WHAT. That was Wednesday. It still hurts about the same, so I'm guessing it's not so much a simple sprain. It's fine for maybe an hour after I sit on an ice pack and then it's back to PAIN CITY. Maybe I should go to the doctor again?

I'm trying to switch to another clinic, as the one I am currently assigned to does not return phone calls apparently. "HEY THEY FORGOT TO VERIFY THIS PART OF THE PRESCRIPTION." Call. Leave message. Wait a few days. Call. Leave message. Wait a few days. Call. Leave message. Wait a few days. Go to the clinic in person and wait for three hours for something that takes five minutes to do. NEW ADVENTURE: "HEY THEY SAID I MIGHT HAVE LUPUS BUT NO ONE GOT BACK TO ME ON THAT (no, seriously)". Call. Leave message. Wait a few days. Call. Leave message. Wait a few days. Call. Leave message. Wait a few days. Go to the clinic in person and wait for three hours for someone to tell me I don't have Lupus (YAY). NEW ADVENTURE: TRYING TO GET A REFERRAL. I think you can guess how that went down.

Then again, I sort of wonder if switching clinics is going to make any difference and if I should just give up on the idea of health care altogether until that glorious day in the future when I have private health insurance.

P.S. First one to make a "it's never lupus (except that one time)" joke gets a reward for most predictable.
