post-election night cooling
Nov. 5th, 2008 12:48 pmAfter Obama's acceptance speech, my plan was to walk down to 4th Ave. and drink some really girly cocktails while hugging strangers in a bar, as there was reportedly a lot of stranger-hugging going on last night.
Of course, THEN I was hit by the second-worst migraine I'd ever had, so I just downed a fistfull of ibuprofen and passed out for about twelve hours.
YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET A HANGOVER *BEFORE* YOU CELEBRATE.
Arg.
I hope it wasn't the cafe mocha. As I told a Seiryuu chat, I went to Starbucks after voting and got a mocha (NOT a free coffee) in order to literally become a latte-sipping liberal. (I always say I'm not a liberal, but I really do love me some gays and abortions.)
I was pleased to note that there were college students outside my apartment making a big to-do. As I told
hearsawho, they were making more noise than they do for the football games. This, from 20-somethings. OVER AN ELECTION. I kept my door open just to listen to it.
So how did everyone else celebrate (or console themselves) last night?
