"Horrible... nightmare visions...!"
"It's called 'life', Dib. Now SIT DOWN."
Oh, Ms. Bitters. You warm the cockles of my cold, black heart, which is in fact actually rather warm and squishy with blood.
So, I spent the entirety of Halloween Day in, at, or around school. As such, I spent Halloween Night exhausted and sat on my ass watching the Invader Zim Halloween episode, followed shortly thereafter by sleep.
I got into the spirit of the holiday vicariously, through my parents. They were ALSO sitting on their asses watching TV, but they were also handing out candy, and...
Well, every year we end up collecting condiment packages from various fast food restaurants, i.e. ketchup, honey, hot sauce, soy sauce, etc. There's usually quite a hefty bag of it sitting in the cupboard, and it's always been a family joke that we should give them out to Trick or Treaters at Halloween.
This year, my parents actually DID give them out. Next to the door was a bowl of candy with the condiments mixed in.
Tiny costumed girl: (in a wee voice) Is that mustard?
My mother: :D ... ... ...who likes SNICKERS?
Trick or Treaters: YAY!
Somewhere, not too far from here, there is a four-year-old sucking down a packet of mayonnaise.
My parents are vaguely evil, and I admire them.
