Tomorrow (well, okay, today) at work we are having a "Cheer Party." This means that, among other things, we will be giving out free tall drinks. This in turn means that we will be painfully busy, and this, to me, does not sound cheerful. Furthermore, my boss selected me specifically to work this shift because he thinks I have a good personality. As I said to my coworkers...

"So John picked me to work the party because he says I'm 'cheerful.' I didn't know I was 'cheerful.' I thought I was 'barely-suppressed rage.'"

Clearly I am an amazing actor.

clearly.

i hate starbucks. i believe i have discussed this with no one in particular before...mainly due to the hyperactivepsychoticschizoid environment and really pathetically weak coffee (they should learn from arabs like my dad did, mwahahaha).

and you, of course, are justified in hating them because they temporarily own your soul. is it true that they give you like a pound of coffee a week or whatever? and free coffee before/after your shift? that's really fuckin SCARY.

i smell chicken.

JUST A MINUTE NOW SIR. I must issue a disclaimer here: no matter how much I bitch about my job, I really do like Starbucks. In fact, most of the job-bitching stems from idiot customers more than the company itself. They do give us a free pound of coffee a week, free drinks at work, and 30% off all products the rest of the time, yes, but that's only the tip of the iceberg. They also have amazing medical coverage, free stocks for employees, tuition reimbursement, and so on. There's a reason they're always on Forbes' "Top Ten Companies to Work For" list.

Of course, I don't care so much if you hate Starbucks, particularly since you didn't give a stupid reason such as "OMG starbucks is teh suck because they're so popular and corporate boo!" Lordy lou I hate it when people do that.

And that's not chicken, it's turkey.

oh, and what i meant by that in my surely sleep-deprived state was that if you WANTED to, you would certainly have ample justification for hating starbucks.

If I did that, customers would start vomiting all over the floor, AND THAT IS NOT CHEERFUL. Thank you for trying to help, though!

Not so bad. Apparently someone forgot to advertise the event, so we weren't completely swamped with customers. I was even sent home early because they had too many partners on the floor. Damn.

Misunderstood? Yeah I get it at work as well. I'm the "positive" one. Am I really "positive" because I'm thinking no.

As for you being the cheerful one at work, that is quite disturbing indeed.

SNRK. AHAHAHAHAHA! You're the positive one? Even when you make the other employees cry? XD Somehow, that is awesome.
