I have been hiking and tramping through mountainous terrain and wading through streamlets with a coworker, all because I wanted see a flowing river and waterfall where there is usually a dry rock bed and a cliff. This transformation does not occur often in southern Arizona. Every few minutes I would stop hiking and plunge my hands in the nearest stream just to feel the running water. That is how novel this experience is to me.

Now I am dirty, tired, my legs are wet, and I am all too aware of what horrible shape I'm in. Time for a shower and a nap.

The grime and fatigue will go away, but the memories you now have will prove to be worth it! I wish that I could experience running water in that way. Right now the only thing that comes close around here is getting plunked by melting icicles. Nothing like a drop of ice water down the back of your shirt....

i saw some pictures on tv of arizona, Z. totally thot of you. lucky you as it's so beautiful. korse, it's kinda like that up north a bunch, tho not often so close to roads and stuff. most of the waterfalls around here are far from the roads....or niagara falls, which is close to the road, but walled off and below.
