Thank you for proving my point...which was that "avant-garde" is of the nerd spectrum, just as "mocha" is a jazzed-up thing on the CHOCOLATE spectrum.

Avant garde is more weird than nerdy. The implications of 'unpopular' in nerd aren't as prevelant in avant garde, which can use the haughty 'mizundastood' without having people laugh at it.
